Hell's Gate National Park is one of Kenya's most active and accessible outdoor destinations. Close to Lake Naivasha, the park is defined by towering cliffs, volcanic formations, open valley scenery and geothermal features. Unlike most major safari parks, selected areas can be explored on foot or by bicycle, giving visitors a more physical connection with the landscape.

Wildlife is not the main reason to visit, but zebra, giraffe, buffalo, eland, hartebeest, Thomson's gazelle and baboons are regularly seen. The absence of large concentrations of dangerous predators in the main visitor areas helps make cycling and hiking part of the park experience, subject to official park rules and current access conditions.

Fischer's Tower is a well known climbing landmark, while the cliffs, gorge landscapes and views toward Mount Longonot make Hell's Gate especially attractive for photography and adventure travellers. Planning your visit

June through February usually offers easier outdoor conditions, although weather can change quickly in the Rift Valley. Gorge access can be restricted for safety after heavy rain, so visitors should always follow current park advice.
