1 day Nairobi National Park and Sheldrick Nursery excursion
Our Nairobi National Park and Sheldrick Nursery day tour combines two of the city’s strongest wildlife experiences in one private excursion. We collect you early from your Nairobi hotel, residence or airport area and head into Nairobi National Park while the morning is still cool. After the game drive, we continue to the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Nairobi Nursery for the scheduled conservation visit before returning you to Nairobi.
This route is ideal for travellers who want genuine safari viewing without leaving the capital for an overnight trip. Nairobi National Park offers open grassland, riverine habitat and seasonal wetlands with rhinos, lions, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, antelopes and rich birdlife. Wildlife remains free-ranging, so sightings vary naturally, but an early start gives your guide time to work the park before city traffic and midday heat build.
Early morning game drive in Nairobi National Park
We normally begin around 6:00 am, depending on the agreed pickup point. Your private pop-up roof 4x4 gives good visibility for photography and allows the guide to adjust the route around current wildlife activity. The game drive can include rhino areas, open plains, the hippo pools or conservation landmarks when road conditions and timing allow. Because the vehicle is reserved for you, we can spend longer at meaningful sightings instead of following a fixed shared-vehicle schedule.
Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Nairobi Nursery
After the game drive we leave enough time to reach the Nursery before the public visit begins. The 11:00 am to 12:00 noon session introduces rescued orphan elephants and explains the long rehabilitation process behind their care. The visit is strictly scheduled and advance booking is required, so we coordinate the timing before confirming the excursion.
The Nursery is inside Nairobi National Park. Current park-entry requirements and the Nursery contribution can change, which is why the final booking confirmation clearly states the fees included for your travel date and traveller category.

Meals are not included, so you can add lunch after the conservation visit or return directly to your hotel depending on the rest of your day. Bottled drinking water is provided. Comfortable clothing, sun protection and a light layer for the early start are recommended. Children should remain supervised throughout the wildlife and conservation visits.
