Nile Crocodile

Nile crocodiles regulate body temperature by moving between water, shade and sunny banks. They can remain still for long periods before making sudden movements.

During seasonal wildebeest movements, crocodiles are part of the river ecosystem, but dramatic feeding scenes are natural events and cannot be predicted precisely.

• Crocodiles are ectothermic and use sun and water to regulate temperature.
• They can remain almost entirely submerged while watching the shoreline.
