Each row in the pricing table represents the complete accommodation combination for the four nights of this safari. Nights 1 and 2 are in the Masai Mara area, Night 3 is in the Lake Nakuru area and Night 4 is in the Lake Naivasha area. The route and core safari programme remain the same whichever accommodation option you select.
Single occupancy and double-sharing prices are shown separately. Double-sharing rates are per person when two adults share one double or twin room. What makes this five-day route different?
The five-day circuit adds Lake Naivasha to the classic Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru combination. That extra night changes the pace of the journey. After intensive wildlife viewing in the Mara and Nakuru, Naivasha provides a gentler Rift Valley stop with freshwater scenery, birdlife and optional activities such as a guided boat trip or a visit to nearby Hell’s Gate National Park.
This balance works well for first-time Kenya visitors who want big wildlife, rhino country and a quieter lakeside experience without extending to a week-long circuit. It is also useful for solo travellers and couples who want the cost advantage and social atmosphere of a shared safari.
Masai Mara wildlife and landscape
The first two nights are spent in the Masai Mara area. The reserve is known for open grasslands, riverine habitat, large herbivore herds and an important predator population. Lions, elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest and many antelope species may be seen during the game drives, while leopard and cheetah sightings depend on natural movement and conditions.
The Great Migration is seasonal and cannot be guaranteed on a particular day. Even outside the main migration period, the Mara remains productive because it supports substantial resident wildlife. Lake Nakuru and rhino conservation
Lake Nakuru offers a different safari environment of woodland, grassland, lake shore and escarpment. Lake Naivasha is a freshwater lake surrounded by papyrus, acacia woodland and productive wetland habitat. Hippos and a wide range of waterbirds are associated with the lake, while surrounding properties provide a relaxed base after the road transfer from Nakuru. Best time to take this safari
This route can operate through much of the year. Drier periods often make road conditions easier and can improve wildlife visibility, while greener periods can bring dramatic skies, fresh landscapes and strong birding. The best month depends on whether your priority is migration travel, general wildlife, photography, birdlife or lower visitor numbers.
Road travel times between Nairobi, the Mara and the Rift Valley can change with traffic, weather and road conditions. Guests should therefore avoid booking a tight international-flight connection immediately after the scheduled Nairobi return.
